Pike Place Market

After we went up to the top of the Space Needle we walked around the Seattle Center and when Drew saw the Seattle Monorail he decided it would be fun to take a ride and see where it went, so we did.  The monorail took us to downtown Seattle near Pike's Place Market.  We ended up walking around Pike's Place Market and stopping to eat lunch at a place there.

Traveling on the Seattle monorail.

This was where we ended up and after we got off the monorail we just followed the mass of people to figure out where to go.

It was such a beautiful day to be exploring Seattle.
I should have taken more pictures in the market but in some places they had booths and booths of things to look at and in other places they had actual stores you could go into.  It was really cool to walk around and see everything.

The place we stopped for lunch was also a cheese processing plant.  You could watch them make cheese while you ate your food.
After we had walked around the market we headed back to the monorail to go back to the Seattle Center where we had started.

Seattle Space Needle

One Saturday on a little bit of a whim, we decided to go up to Seattle and see the Space Needle and maybe do some other stuff.  It was a really cool experience to go up to the top of the Space Needle, especially because we had great luck and were there on a clear day.  There was a great view from the top of the Space Needle and Alden loved running around the circle and trying to find different buttons to press.  There were lots of different electronic displays that told you what everything was and so it was really cool to see that.  I thought it was beautiful from up there and I had fun trying to take pictures, although I forgot my camera so the pictures aren't great because I was taking them with my phone.

The first thing Alden did at the top was find a display with buttons for him to press.

Alden loved looking through all of these!

The sky was beautiful and blue and it was such a clear day for Seattle, especially in the winter.

Alden and Daddy taking turns looking at different buildings through the magnifier.

The sun is out!  I even started getting warm.

We had a great time at the top and really enjoyed the weather on a beautiful day!

Alden and his spoon

I know this might seem like a little thing but Alden is finally able to feed himself a little with a spoon. I love watching him feed himself and I am always really impressed at how neat he is, even when he is feeding himself.  Here is a video of the first time he fed himself with a spoon!  I think one of my favorite things about the video is how he also has a big plastic spoon that he was trying to use.

I love watching him learn new things!

Snow Adventure

We went up to Mount Rainier on a Saturday right after it had snowed so that Alden could play in the snow at Paradise.  He thought that the snow was a lot of fun but he was sometimes scared to walk on it when it was deep. It was so beautiful up there and I loved seeing everything covered in white.  There were tons of people up there because it had just snowed and there were areas to sled and trails to cross-country ski on.  Although we didn't do any of that we still had a blast up there walking around and playing.  Alden got a little too cold after awhile at Paradise so we drove down the mountain to another area where it was a little warmer so that Alden could run around and play some more without freezing.  Drew and I had a blast throwing snowballs at each other, drawing in the snow and watching Alden find puddles to jump in.

Fresh snow is so beautiful.

He was bundled up so much that it was hard for him to reach the snow at times.
Inside the visitor's center at Paradise.

Alden loved destroying snowballs that Daddy made by smashing them.

One of Alden's favorite things at Paradise was the birds.  We had to try and show him that he had to stand still because if he chased them they got scared and flew away. Here is a cute video of it.
He got a lot better at standing still by the time that we left.

I thought this was so beautiful.

This is where we moved down the mountain so Alden wouldn't freeze too much.
Drew threw snow in my hair.

Alden loved being outside and discovering new things.

Somebody threw me into the snow as you can see by the snow all over my pants and on my jacket (not that you can see it there because my jacket is white).  Drew and I had a lot of fun.

Drew's beautiful drawing in the snow!
Drew kept making snow blocks for Alden because he would ask for them but then once Drew made them Alden would act scared of them.  I thought it was a little funny.  Here are a couple videos of it. Video 1   Video 2
