Last Week in Utah

During the last week that Alden and I were in Utah we stayed fairly busy and had lots of fun with friends and family.  Since everything was chaotic inside our apartment because of all the packing we spent a lot of time outside or playing upstairs with family.  These are just a bunch of photos that I took during that last week.  I love my little boy.

We picked up the rocking chair that Alden is inheriting and he had a lot of fun sitting in it.
Alden and Brendon had a ton of fun playing with the ball in the backyard.

The boys had so much fun playing with the rose petals with Uncle Rick.  They thought it was so funny when he would make them "pop."

One of Alden and Brendon's favorite things was watching Tangled.  During all the chaos of packing, watching Tangeled was one of the few things that calmed Alden down.
One of the last nights before my apartment was packed a bunch of my friends came over to relax and watch a movie after going out to dinner.  I will truly miss all my friends and I am so grateful for all their friendship!

Drew is home!

So it has been so long since I posted that a lot has changed.  Drew is now back home with Alden and me (Yay!), we have packed up and left Utah, we are now at least temporarily settled in Washington, and Drew started his job today.  Hopefully over the next few weeks I will get a bunch of blog posts up showing what we have been doing, but for now I just want to celebrate that Drew is home with some pictures of him with us from the last three weeks!

Daddy on his first night home with Alden!

Drew and Alden are totally loving their Daddy-Son time no matter where we are.

Alden pointing things out to Daddy at the zoo.

I am so happy to have this happy and funny guy back with me!

We love our family and are so grateful for all the time we get together!

Family Time

One thing that I loved  about being in Utah was that Alden and I had a ton of family to see all the time.  I loved having my sister Katrina nearby to see and hang out with when we both had time.  It was also really cute that Katrina was one of the first names that Alden learned.  He got really excited every time I asked him if he wanted to go see Aunt Katrina.  They always had so much fun together and I will miss seeing Katrina all the time.

Alden and I will also miss having Aunt Magann and Alden's cousin Brendon nearby so that Alden could always have a friend to play with.  It was always a lot of fun to watch the boys interact together and see their different personalities emerge.  We will also miss having all of the rest of Drew's family close enough that we could visit each other fairly regularly.

I know Alden also misses my cousins Kent and Alex playing with him and showing him all the "boy" things to do, like building a fire, building guns with duplos and playing with foam swords.  I miss having my Aunt and Uncle upstairs to talk to in the evenings and I am so glad that I got the chance to work on some sewing projects with Jenni while I was in Utah.  It was so fun sewing Alden's Halloween costume for this year with her.

I will also miss my Grandparent's and going to their house for dinner on Sundays and seeing all my aunts and uncles there.  It was fun to be close to so many family gatherings and get to know a lot of my family better.  I will miss all my family as I start on a new adventure but I am excited to be with my husband and son.

Katrina wanted to see what Alden did in a huge rainstorm that hit.  He didn't cry but he tried to get back under the covering as soon as he started getting wet.  We had a lot of fun watching this rainstorm together while watching The Sound of Music.  I loved our sister time!

I took Alden and Brendon to the playground together when I was watching them one day.  Brendon was a lot more willing to try and climb stuff than Alden.  They had fun together and they didn't fight.  I considered it a successful outing.
Sorry this picture is a little blurry but Magann and I went to the Women's Expo together and Brendon's favorite thing there was this huge chair.  It was cute to watch him in it.

The week before I left Katrina and I went to one last dance performance together at BYU before I moved away.  I always love going to shows with Katrina and critiquing the dancing and choreography with her!

Alden trying on his Halloween costume after Jenni and I had finished sewing it.

Thanks so much to all of my family who have made these last few years in Utah great!

Alden's Favorites

These were some of Alden's favorite things to do when we were in Utah.  It was a lot of fun because I got to play with Alden all the time and we had lots of time to do the things he loved while we waited to move.

We went to the park almost every morning and Alden loved swinging!

He loved watching his shadow when he was swinging.

One of Alden's favorite things to do was watch Tangeled.  He loved watching it, cuddling with mommy and drinking his milk before bed.  After he had seen Tangeled a few times he decided it was fun to try and carry a frying pan around with him.

Alden loved playing with my aunt and uncle's kitties in the garage.

This was funny to watch because Alden would pick up rocks and throw them onto the sidewalk and would then walk over to the sidewalk and throw them all back.

So this was one of Alden's favorite games to play upstairs.  They had a jar full of coins that Alden liked to dump out and throw everywhere and then clean up.  Yay for simple play toys!

Utah Aquarium

So this is from when Alden and I first got back to Utah in August.  We went to the aquarium with my aunt, uncle, cousins and sister.  Alden loved seeing all the fishes again and it was fun seeing everyone show him around.  It was a fun experience and it is nice I finally get to post about it over two months later!

It was fun seeing Alden get shown around the aquarium by everyone!

Alden had fun trying to touch the animals in the water.

It was fun seeing Alden explore and discover different things again!  Aquariums are always so much fun with my little boy because he gets so excited!
