Armed Forces Day

On Armed Forces Day Fort Lewis had a lot of different things going on so we went to check it out.  They had a bunch of historical reenactment groups there and that was really fun to see.  They also had a lot of the bigger military vehicles out so that kids and family could sit inside of them and see them up close.  They also had carnival rides, booths selling food, bounce houses and other things.  We didn't do any carnival rides or bounce houses because Alden was still too little for most of them.  However, we actually had quite a bit of fun just walking around and seeing everything.

And soldiers still complain about living in tents now...
This was some of the historical reenactment stuff that was fun to watch.
Drew was wondering what this was for.

Alden was very enthralled watching some of the equipment that they had out.

This was the vehicle that Alden got to sit inside of.  He was a little confused at first but he liked trying to turn the steering wheel. He let them put the helmet on him for about two seconds before he wanted it off again.

We got a funnel cake to share and Alden wanted some but ended up only really eating whipped cream.
By the end of our outing Alden was getting a little tired and he was ready to rest but we all had a good time walking around and seeing everything.
