Our Easter Fun

We had a really fun Easter this year with Alden loving getting to look for eggs that the Easter bunny had hidden.  Alden was actually old enough this year to understand how to look for eggs and it was fun to watch him.  Alden was also really excited to help Mommy decorate Easter cupcakes.  I loved having my little helper in the kitchen!  It was also wonderful going over to a friend's house for dinner to celebrate.  Alden loved getting to play with other kids and enjoyed getting to participate in another Easter egg hunt after dinner.

I love Easter and the reminder that it is to me of Jesus' sacrifice and the miracle of his resurrection that means that all of us can be saved and live again with our Heavenly Father.  Even though we love celebrating with an Easter egg hunt and yummy food I try to make sure I don't forget what the holiday is truly about.  It was wonderful having general conference on Easter this year so that we could listen to all of the talks from the general authorities.

The boys' baskets from the Easter bunny.

Alden loved going through his basket and seeing what he had got.  He got a football, new book and chocolate bunny (although I don't think he realized the bunny was edible).

Then he went around and found all the eggs that had been hidden.  He had so much fun figuring it out.

Alden needed a little help finding some of the eggs but he was just so happy when he would find them.  Here is a little video of Alden finding the eggs.

Alden loved showing off the eggs that he had found.

Anders had fun just sitting with Mommy and then squirming around on the ground.

These were my baking projects for Easter which I had a ton of fun with!

It was fun to be creative while decorating my Easter cupcakes.  Alden was really excited about the chicks on the cupcakes.

Alden helping me in the kitchen.  Here we were putting his Easter candy into bags.

Alden was so excited about his new football and was so excited to get to throw it around and play with it.
Alden and the kids all lined up to start the Easter egg hunt after dinner.

Alden was running all over their yard.

Alden running to grab an egg he saw across the yard.

Alden saw an egg really high up so a big kid had to get it but Alden was excited to just point it out for someone else to get.

Alden found one in here but couldn't get it open on his own so I had to help him.

Anders was just napping peacefully in my arms during the egg hunt.
All the kids together after the Easter egg hunt.  I am so glad that we have friends in the area to spend holidays with!
