Spring Fair

We had a lot of fun going to the spring fair together this year.  They had one day that was free for military and their families to go so I decided I could take both boys then and if we only lasted twenty minutes, I would be okay with that.  Luckily both boys were super good and we made it through almost two hours there.  It was a lot of fun and Alden had a great time running around and seeing all the animals and telling me about them.  Anders just slept the whole time in the carrier which was great!  I loved seeing all the baby animals and I loved that it wasn't too crowded because it meant it was easier for Alden to get a turn to see all the animals and I wasn't worried about losing him in a giant crowd.

As soon as we walked into the first barn Alden got excited about the animals.
Alden loved seeing all the animals and telling me what they were.
So if you can read this sign you will notice this calf was born at the beginning of April and it was only the middle when we went to the fair.   It was so precious to see a calf less than two weeks old.
Alden really liked the miniature horses that he thought were about the right size for him.

They had some of the miniature horses hooked up to these carts and they were taking them through a course.  It was really fun to watch.

Alden loved getting as close as he could to all of the animals.

Alden liked just watching the other kids race the rubber ducks along the rain gutters.

Alden tried to figure out these puzzles but they were a little tricky.

Alden was so excited to find multiple different kinds of rocking horses to ride on.  He had so much fun on these.  Here is a video of him on one of the horses.  It was funny to see how focused he would get on other things even when he was riding one of the horses.

Alden loved everything about the kids area!
This was the petting zoo part that Alden was so excited for!  Alden was not afraid of any of the animals but just wanted to pet all of them.

I was really impressed at how good he was at following directions on how to be gentle to the animals.  For example he was only allowed to touch this chick with one finger and he was really good at that.

Alden looking at all the different birds.
Alden wanted to go sit down and watch the show but he only lasted about 2 minutes like this, then he wanted to move on.
In honor of Drew we had to get Dole Whip to eat.  Alden and I had a lot of fun sharing this yummy treat.

Alden really enjoyed watching the fountain and then standing by the giant duck!

We got lucky with our timing that we were able to go see all these monster trucks up close.

Alden loved getting to stand right next to these giant trucks!
The last thing that Alden and I did (with Anders sleeping, of course) was watch some of the Dock Dog competition.  Alden loved watching all the dogs jump into the water.  It was really fun to watch and fun to see how excited Alden was about it!

We had a great time at the Spring Fair and I am so glad that we took the time to go do this little outing because it made Alden's day!  Not to mention, it was fun for me to see all the animals and events too!
