Great Wolf Lodge - Day 1

We decided to take our kids on one last trip to Great Wolf Lodge before we left the area, and in celebration of Anders' birthday.  Alden was so excited to go!  Alden asked every day for two weeks (at least) if it was time to go to Great Wolf Lodge.  He was so happy when we finally told him yes!  He was so excited to get to go use his wand and go swimming.

We got there in the afternoon of our first day. Alden immediately wanted to go use his wand and so we got that started and Alden started "questing" all over the hotel.  He loved making things move and light up with his wand and it was fun to watch how excited he would get when he found stuff.  Anders was perfectly happy just being carried around while he looked at everything.

Once we could get into our room we went in there for a bit to change.  Alden was really excited because they gave us a free upgrade on our room and so Alden had his own little sleeping area with bunk beds, a TV and animals painted on the wall.  He absolutely loved it!  After visiting our room we went swimming for a little while (I don't have any pictures of swimming from this day because I didn't take my camera) before changing the kids into PJS so that we could go to story time before they went to bed.

Even though we were only there for a half of a day we still did enough that the kids were exhausted when it came time for bed.  We had a great first day and start to our stay.

Alden was immediately ready to use his wand while Anders was happy to follow and watch from his perch on Dad's shoulders.

Once we could get into our room the boys just wanted to explore for a little bit.

Anders and Alden were both very excited to explore the "KidKamp," as the room was called.

You can see how excited Alden was about his room.  I promise he was genuinely happy, even though his smiles here look cheesy.

Alden didn't want to sit on the floor for story time but he was very happy sitting in a little chair he found.

Alden was mesmerized by the musical show before story time.

He continued to be mesmerized all through story time!  He really loved it.

After story time he had the chance to go meet one of the characters and he really wanted to, so we waited in line.  Once we got to the front he quickly ran up, gave her a hug and ran away.  He would then go nowhere near her again.  I was too slow to get a picture of him with the character but I caught him as he ran away.

Anders was exhausted and fell asleep right before story time and then proceeded to sleep like this in the stroller for half of the night before he woke up and wanted to be moved.  We had a great day and went to bed excited for the next day there.
