Mount Rainier - Carbon River

On Veteran's Day Alden and I went to visit Mount Rainier to walk around.  It was really chilly but we had a lot of fun exploring and Alden liked seeing lots of little streams.  Alden was a good little walker and although we were not able to go too far because I can't carry Alden as much anymore we still had a lot of fun.  Alden even got to ride his bike on an old road that washed out a few years ago so it is closed to cars.  It was a lot of fun being out in nature and it was not very crowded so it was really peaceful and nice.

There was a loop trail that started at the parking lot.  The loop was broken (a bridge was out) but we walked what we could of it.

Alden liked looking for all of the water on the loop trail. Here is a video of it.

Even though our noses got really cold we had a blast! Alden was such a good little hiker like this video shows.

This was the road that was closed but we could go walk or bike on.  We started walking but then went back to get Alden's bike so that we could go further.

We sat in the car and ate a snack when we went back to get Alden's bike.

Alden was so excited to get to ride his bike! He is getting really good at riding it. Here is the first video I took of him riding.

He would stop occasionally and tell me about the things he saw, like this fallen tree. Here is a video of one of those times.

I thought it was really pretty out there and I was grateful that there wasn't any rain.

The sun was hitting the hill behind us but we were still in the shadow of the mountain.

When we went back there was a little bit of downhill so Alden got to go pretty fast and he really enjoyed that.

It is hard to see but we were looking at the river through the trees here.

I love this little boy and I am glad that we were able to go on this little trek together and have a really good time.  We certainly wish Daddy could have been with us but we hope these pictures bring a smile to his face!
