These are some of the cupcakes that I have made this year. I have tried some doctored cake mix recipes and my favorite is one with pudding mix and yogurt added.
The picture of the cupcakes on the left is one of the most popular recipes I have made this year. I have made it many times now. They are pink lemonade cupcakes.
I have tried out a bunch of different cookie and bar recipes. Here are the smores bars, which were not my favorite, but interesting and strawberry cake mix cookies that I did not like but Alden LOVED them. He ate about five off the counter before I realized what he was doing and I had to move them out of his reach. I have also experimented with lots of frosting recipes, some of which have been great and others not so much.

I found out how many loaves of zucchini bread you can make from one giant zucchini. The answer is 12. I really do love zucchini bread!
Drew's battalion had a big ball and I got to make the cakes for the ball. It was by far the biggest baking project I have had yet but I loved it. It was a lot of fun to make the marble sheet cakes and I used a chocolate ganache filling with a buttercream frosting. It was very difficult to get the red frosting red enough but I eventually managed it.
Here you can see the marble cakes and chocolate filling.
So I did actually finish this border but I had to run to the store again and then never took a final picture.
I have found a recipie for sugar cookies and frosting this year that I love. It has been fun making sugar cookies for lots of different events. The cars, trains and planes were for Alden's 2nd birthday party.
These fish were for a fishing derby that the scouts had.

These were really yummy...at least I thought they were. They were like a snickerdoodle cupcake. It was a white cake mix and then you roll them in cinnamon sugar.

These were oreo cupcakes that were very popular when Drew took them into work. I really liked the cookies and cream frosting on them!

This was a cake I made for fun when I was practicing the marble cake and filling for the ball. I had fun doing whatever I wanted to decorate and experiment with designs I like.

This was another cake that Alden and I just made for fun. Alden loves to get up on a chair in the kitchen and help me decorate and make cakes. I had to decorate this cake in his honor.

I have also been experimenting with gluten-free baking this year, just for fun. This is a batch of gluten-free chocolate cupcakes with fudge frosting that I made.
I have loved experimenting with baking this year and I know I will continue to do so because I have a lot of fun with it and I find it relaxing. I just need to make sure that I keep finding people to share with so that I don't eat too much!

Here's wishing we lived closer! mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
