We did hike a trail all the way out to the beginning of the spit where we could see the lighthouse in the distance. It was a very pretty walk/hike through forested areas to get to the beach where the spit starts. The hike was rather muddy, but luckily Drew and I had worn our hiking boots and Alden was in rain boots so we were fine. Anders was all bundled up in the hiking backpack and he was totally happy and warm in there.
Drew, Alden and Anders setting out on the hike.
Drew and I had fun pointing different things out to Alden as we went and telling him what they were. Alden tried his best to avoid the worst of the mud.
My amazing husband!
This picture does not do the view justice! It was very pretty!
This is the New Dungeness that is located at the end of the spit. I took pictures of it using the zoom on my camera.
Drew and Alden had fun playing around on the beach. Alden had fun finding rocks to throw in the water and Drew had fun showing off his balancing skills.
Alden had fun throwing a couple rocks in the water with Daddy.
I love my sweet little boy and I am so proud of him for doing all of the walking and hiking on his own!
We took a different path back that was paved (or partially paved, I can't quite remember) so it was not as muddy and hard to navigate. Anders was just happy to be along for the ride with all of us. He was so happy in the backpack and just loved looking around at everything. We had a great time exploring here but we were all ready to go find somewhere for dinner by the end!
