Utah Trip

It was really nice to be able to take a trip to visit all of our family in Utah in October.  I really appreciated the fact that my dad flew up to Seattle just so he could do the whole trip with me and Alden, including the drive.  Alden loved having tons of family around for the week since it is just him and me for awhile.   We had a lot of fun playing with all the nerf guns at Uncle Rick and Aunt Jenni's house, playing with cousins, seeing Katrina in the homecoming parade and just relaxing and visiting with family.  It ended up being a pretty busy week with lots to do but we had a great time and it was nice to be able to see lots of family.

Alden and Grandpa would shoot the door together with their nerf guns.
Here is a video of Alden playing with my dad and cousins and nerf guns.
Alden and Grandpa doing story time before bed.  Alden loves books so much!
Alden and his cousins always love to walk along this retaining wall.
We tried to do cousin pictures while we were visiting but it was a little crazy since there are now six boys, including three two year olds and a newborn.
All the boys sitting and enjoying their juice together.

Alden loved playing with the soccer ball in the front yard but he was not really in the mood to share.
This was funny to see Tyson and Brian pushing Kayla around in the wagon.

Alden tried his best to be good for pictures. I liked this series of pictures with Brendon because it reflects a lot of the personalities of the boys.

Trying to get all the boys to cooperate and look at the same time...
Zac kept wanting to just jump off the crate instead of staying there, but they did pretty well for the most part.

We let all the boys get dressed up in their Halloween costumes for a couple pictures and Alden was so excited.  He loves his costume this year!  He got to pick what he wanted to be and he told me he wanted to fly planes so we made him a pilot.

On Saturday we got to go to the BYU Homecoming parade, which Katrina was in.  Alden was very intimidated by people trying to give him high fives at first but eventually he warmed up to that and chasing after candy.
Alden's little stash of candy that he kept adding to.

This was the first person that came to say hi to Alden and he was terrified.  The girl felt really bad but it made me laugh a little.
Alden was really excited when an "Up" float came by and he got a balloon, which you can see in the background tied to the stroller.
Alden even got to give his Aunt Katrina a high five before she started dancing right in font of us.  Katrina did awesome and it was really fun to get to see her perform.
They had a little routine that was fun to watch.
Alden was excited to get a little tootsie roll from this girl near the end of the parade.
We went to lunch with Dad and Katrina at Denny's after the parade and then Alden wanted to chase Grandpa on the grass when we were done.

We ended up taking Alden to the park after lunch so that he could burn off some more energy and play.
Alden really enjoyed getting to play on the playground.

We then went on a little walk around the park and Alden had fun finding rocks to the throw into water,

We find this nice little area where we could stand by the river and there were lots of rocks for Alden to throw.

Alden was perfectly content to throw rocks in the river for as long as we would let him.

Jenni and Kent came and joined us and Kent had fun helping Alden find rocks to throw and my Dad took lots of pictures.

Alden had fun just watching the rocks he threw in and seeing them splash.

We had a great time in Utah visiting with all of our family and being busy for a week away from home.  I am so grateful to all the family around us that are so supportive.
