Victoria- Miniature World

After visiting the Royal BC museum we walked over to Miniature World which is located in a part of the Empress Hotel in downtown Victoria.  This ended up being a really cool place for all us.  The displays were really impressive because there was so much detail and they tried to be really accurate with all the displays.  Alden thought it was fun to try and find the buttons on the displays that would make things like planes, trains and cars move.  Here are pictures of some of the miniature displays they had.

The pictures of these ones aren't that great but they were really cool in person.
These are some pictures of some of the displays they had from the WWII time period.

This was the first button Alden found and he loved making the planes move.
I loved seeing all the different displays from history and how war and lifestyles changed over time.
This was cool because it rotated through day and night lighting.
Alden was watching for the train here.

I really liked this display of lots of different castles in Europe.  The one on the right was one of Drew and my favorites.

Another button that made cars move.

It was fun seeing the displays based on Fantasy themes like Santa's workshop.

These are from Jack and the Bean stock and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Drew found the Swiss Family Robinson Tree House.

Alden's favorite thing of this whole stop was the carousel. He wanted to just stand there and push the button so that he could watch it go around over and over again.

I really liked this circus display because it was so elaborate and fun.
The lights on this display were also really incredible!
This was a really fun family stop and we all had a lot of fun.
