Our 5th Anniversary

Drew and I were so excited to get to celebrate our 5 year anniversary last month!  I can't believe that it has been 6 years since we met and that we have been married for 5 years now.  The time has gone by so quickly and I am so grateful for the time we have had and all the time we will have together!  In the five years that we have been married we finished our Bachelor's Degrees, we have lived in six different places, had two wonderful kids, had tons of adventures, had more time apart than we would care to mention and had our share of trials.

While it has not been a perfect five years I can't imagine a better person to share all the ups and downs with.  We have grown and learned from each other over the years and I feel that I, at least, have become a better person because of having Drew in my life.  He has taught me to trust myself and believe that I am capable of more than I sometimes think I am.  His faith is strong and he has been such a powerful example for me over the years.  I am so grateful for the time we have together, whether we are in the same state or half-way around the world from each other, we are still a team and we always will be.  I love you Drew and could not ask for a better partner for this life and the eternities!

Here are some of my favorite memories and highlights of the last six years.

One of our first dates, hiking a park in California.
Before heading back off to school for the fall, after 3 months of dating, we went with a friend up to San Francisco for the day and had a great time!

These were our engagement photos taken over Christmas break in 2009.  I love the one on the left because I feel like it shows how safe I feel with Drew.  He is such an anchor to me and I love that I can count on him to be there for me.
He also is able to make me laugh and smile which I love.

We were married in the Oakland temple on August 21, 2010. It was one of the best days of my life because we got to seal our lives together for time and all eternity.
Taken in the summer of 2011 after we had been married almost a year.  We were loving every minute we were together and enjoying a break from school for the summer.
This was taken the week after Alden was born and a couple days after Drew graduated with his Bachelor's and commissioned as an officer with US Army in 2012.
In the summer of 2013 Drew, Alden and I were having an amazing time exploring Korea and spending time as a family after almost a year apart.
In 2014 we got to move to Washington and spend time exploring our new environment as a family.
Now, in 2015 we have another wonderful little boy, Anders, and we are still enjoying Washington and taking advantage of all the moments that we get to spend together.

For our anniversary date Drew and I went to the melting pot for dinner which was super yummy!  It was nice to go out to a really fancy dinner with just the two of us.  It was one of the first times we had left Anders with a babysitter and I was a little nervous but he did great!  The next night we actually got to go out again because of some scheduling changes and we decided to go have fun and play Foot Golf.  If you don't know what that is, it is pretty much the game of golf where you are kicking a soccer ball rather hitting a golf ball.  It was fun to get out and just do something different and fun where we could relax and just be us.

This was our really yummy cheese fondue and Drew enjoying the food.

Drew and I both really enjoyed the chocolate fondue.  It was fun eating something super decadent for a night!

Drew starting off our game of foot golf.
Drew was better at taking time to set up his shots than me.
We did both make it in all the holes, even if it took a little while.

Drew setting up his shot and getting a good shot off.  I think Drew and I both enjoyed the chance to go practice kicking a soccer ball around again.
We are so happy for the five years we have had and we are so excited for everything to come!
