Rodeo at the Fair

We were really excited for the Washington State Fair to start this year so that we could go to a rodeo and just enjoy the fair as a family.  Drew was lucky enough to be able to manage a little time off work and so we got to go to a rodeo on Friday afternoon and then we got to go spend all day at the fair on Monday.

Alden and I ran into some friends when we first got to the fair so we had fun hanging out with them for awhile.  Alden loved having some of his friends there to play with him.   He got to explore some different areas with his friends before it was time to head to the rodeo and meet Daddy.

The rodeo was fun to watch and Alden just liked seeing all the horses and sheep.  I personally would not enjoy rodeos all the time but it is a fun thing to go see once in awhile.  We had a really fun time as a family and it was so nice to have Drew here this year, as Alden and I went by ourselves last year while he was gone.

Alden and his friends playing in the corn kernels.
Alden had a lot of fun pedaling this little tractor around a little track.

Seated at the rodeo and eating a snack while watching.
I think this is my favorite event to watch with all the little kids.

Daddy, Anders and Alden enjoying the rodeo together.
We got to see a little of everything, which was a lot of fun and very interesting.
Now for the broncos...something I have no desire to ever do.

There were not very many people around us, so Alden got his own bench for a little while.
Apparently Anders saw something really funny.
Then we got to see barrel racing which was very interesting to watch.

We had a really fun day enjoying the rodeo and a little of the fair as a family.  I am so grateful for the opportunity I had to go to the rodeo with Drew and our boys this year.  I am also just reminded of how much I love having my husband around and how grateful I am for every day that we get to share together!
