Edventure

There is a children's museum in downtown Columbia that we all got to go visit with some friends.  We actually ended up going two days in a row because of how planning worked out with some people here.  Both Anders and Alden loved it and had no problem going two days in a row.  The children's museum, which is called Edventure, was really nice and there was definitely tons to do there.  Even after spending two days there, we still hadn't done everything.

Alden absolutely loved exploring there and playing in all the different sections.  Some of his favorite areas were the grocery store, the farm, the fire truck, the veterinarian office, the pizza factory and the little kid area where there was a small boat.  It was so fun to watch him enjoy doing simple things, like going grocery shopping, and think that it was so exciting!  Anders was just happy to get down and explore! It is so fun to see how much Anders has changed and how much he has learned since we got here a few short months ago  Here are just a few pictures from our time at the children's museum.  I am sorry that they are not very good, as I forgot my camera and only had my phone.

Alden loved playing in the grocery store.  He was so excited to go shopping and get things for me, which I thought was so sweet.
Anders was a little unsure about what to do at first while his brother shopped.
Alden had fun selling me a doughnut and Anders slowly got more curious and interested in looking around.
Alden was so intrigued by this and loved cleaning this boy's teeth, just like he has seen the dentist do on him.
Anders found this giant mouth with teeth that he could pull out of it and carry around.
The boys loved playing the veterinarian office!  Alden really wanted to take care of his dog and I think Anders just enjoyed watching everyone.  They played in this little office for over half an hour with the animals.
Anders was so excited to sit on this mini bar stool.
Alden wanted to make food for me and Anders which was really sweet and cute to watch.
Alden loved sitting on the tractor while he pretended to drive it around.
Both of my boys loved the farm area where they wanted to collect eggs and milk a cow.
Anders loved sitting in the car and driving.  Alden made sure that he had gas and was good to go.
Alden wouldn't stand still long enough for me to take a good picture but he loved dressing up like a fireman.
They had this little boat in the little kids' play area that Anders loved exploring.
Alden loved to pretend he was the captain of the boat.
Alden weighing anchor.
They had a section that was set up like a pizza restaurant with this giant pizza in the corner that the little kids could play on.  Anders loved crawling around on it!
They had a building area with these giant blocks.  Anders loved trying to maneuver through them.

Day 2

We started in the little kitchen area, which was right next to the fire truck.  I got a picture of Alden dressed up as a fire fighter while he was looking at me.  Alden was telling me that they had to go put out the fire.
Alden wanted to be the cashier in the grocery store.
Alden loved scanning all the items while Anders shopped.
They had a climbing structure that Alden had not wanted to play on the day before but Drew got him to climb it with him.
We found our way back to the little boat again and it was one of the boys' favorite play areas.
Both boys loved playing with the anchor.

Look what Daddy caught, an Anders!
Anders loved climbing around in the boat again!
Alden loved going down this slide and figured out the art of how to go down it quickly.  He just made sure he picked up his feet and slid down on his back.
Anders was not sure about the slide at first but soon started to like it and wanted to go down over and over again.
We made it back to the pizza factory where Alden loved running the cash register and Anders enjoyed playing with the magnetic letters.
Right before we left Alden decided to make a "monster mask."  He was excited to use spakly glitter pens and put extra eyes on the mask.  We had a great two days at the children's museum and I am glad that we went.  The kids both had a great time there and did a good job of wearing themselves out so that they rested well later.
