Aquarium at the COEX Mall

So we went to the COEX mall last night to explore and found there was a nice bookstore and a ton of restaurants there but not much else that we wanted to look at.  So we walked over to the aquarium, which is in the mall, and took Alden to that.  Since Alden has always loved fish in the past we knew this would be a hit but we were surprised when we got to the first tank and he was scared of the fish.  You can watch this video that shows his original reaction. (Alden scared of fish)  However, within ten minutes Alden had warmed up to the fish and was having a great time!  We were there a little over an hour and a half and I think Alden would have just liked to have stayed there!  By far, I think this has been Alden's favorite outing so far.

So here are some pictures showing our experience at the COEX Aquarium.  Again, I took too many photos to post them all here so I am going to create an album on Facebook again that has all of the photos.

The first thing the boys found....BUBBLES!

Alden wasn't sure he liked anything at first... even the paintings on the walls. He started warming up and here is a video of it.
 Poor little boy!

The first area was different than any other aquarium I have been to because it was devoted to Korean fish and plants.

Alden started getting braver...

Finally standing on his own...not clinging to us

They had these funny little people in some of the tanks.

This was one of Alden's favorites!

He watched the fish very intently. Here is the link to a video of him watching them.

The next part of the aquarium was pretty interesting.  It had a lot of interesting tanks based on household items, instruments and other things. Below you will see pictures with examples of the different tanks.
This tank was pretty cool.  When the fish swam across the "strings" (really more like sensors)  it played the note of the string.  Here is a video of it.

Alden loved watching these squirrels!

Alden liked these but wanted to see the fish more.  Here is a video of it.

The next part of the aquarium was Amazonian and it was really cool because of the way that they had it set up!

Alden wanted to look at everything else...not the camera!

Then we went into the kids room in the aquarium.  Alden basically just thought it was a fun place to run around and climb on things! Here is a video of him.

 SOOOO cute!

The next part of the aquarium was more of the animals that are at the majority of aquariums but we still had a blast seeing all of them!

This seal kept coming over and doing flips right in front of Alden and he loved it.
We also passed a beaver around this point in the aquarium and Drew took a video of him.  Here it is.
 OH NO! =)

Alden still loves the jelly fish!

Penguins!
Which one is closest in size to Alden?

We had an amazing time at the aquarium, exploring and seeing all the fish.  It was also really cool because Alden is walking now so he could just walk around and walk up to the tanks of the animals that he liked the most.  We hope enjoyed seeing and hearing about our trip.
