Myeong-dong

Last night Drew, Alden and I went to a shopping district in Seoul called Myeong-dong where there are also a ton of Korean restaurants to pick from.  We took the train over there.

Waiting on the train platform.

It had more traditional Korean food than some other areas that we had visited.  We ate at what Drew called a beef and leaf place last night for dinner and it was good, pretty much just yummy lettuce wraps with different sides. But, the best part about the meal was the experience.  They cook the meat in front of you over hot coals and then you can also grill some of the sides if you want to, for example Drew likes to grill his kimchi before he eats it.  Here you can see some pictures of what the experience was like.

The sides over here include kimchi, macaroni salad, bean sprouts, some bean thing that looked like tofu, a different kind of kimchi (I think), and something else we couldn't identify.

Alden just wanted his milk...none of our food.

We also found a Krispy Kreme Doughnut there and since Drew couldn't remember the last time he had one we stopped and got a doughnut to share.  Plus, we wanted to see if they tasted the same in Korea as they do in America...yup, they do.  It tasted like a doughnut. =)

Alden decided he was hungry while we were there too...but his snack was much healthier than ours, bananas and blueberries.

Beyond that we just walked around and looked at all the different stores and restaurants scoping out other restaurants we want to try while we are here!

I thought this Mario looked really creepy but Drew wanted a picture...

That was our evening adventure in Myeong-dong.  I hope you enjoyed all the pictures.  Wishing you the best from Korea,
