The biggest event we have gone to on post was for all of the employees, including the Koreans, Army soldiers, Air force soldiers and civilian workers who work out at the airport There were probably between 80 to 100 people there and besides us there were maybe only two or three other Caucasians there. It was fun meeting all of the people with whom Drew works. They had so much food there that it was a little crazy. They probably had enough food there to feed close to 200, not 80, but it was super yummy. They had lots of different meat options, corn on the cob, veggie tray and dip, pie, kimbop (one of the Koreans brought it and it was fairly good), chips, potato salad and more things that I am sure that I am forgetting. It was all really good and Drew and I had a good time visiting with everyone who came. Alden's favorite part of the whole experience was trying to chase the pigeons. He kept wanting to walk over to see them while just holding on to Drew or my's hand and then would walk around trying to catch them while holding on to us. It was quite entertaining and funny.
Alden was trying to get down and go see the pigeons again...he did not want Daddy or me to hold him.
Besides the barbecue we have eaten at a couple places on post, one of which was the Katusa snack bar that sells Korean food. Drew took me there to try my first Korean food and some kimchii. I have to admit the really mild kimchii wasn't bad but I was not a big fan of the stronger forms. Other than that the food was fairly good.
Our lunch at the Katusa snack bar.
For once Alden wasn't interested in our food, he just wanted his rice chex.
We went to the Dragon Hill hotel on post and got pastries for dessert...
These photos are taken outside the Dragon Hill Hotel, which is the prettiest place on post.
