Early Christmas

Before we headed down to California for Christmas we let our kids have an early Christmas at home where they got to open all the presents that we had here at the house from other family members.  The boys had a lot of fun opening presents.  Anders just wanted to play with the paper, bags and boxes but Alden actually seemed to care what was inside the presents now.  It was fun watching both of my boys have fun with their presents and it made me really grateful for our extended family, whose love I truly feel this time of year!

Anders loved tearing the paper up into litle pieces as he opened up his presents.  He was pretty good at not eating the paper but occasionally we would have to interfere and keep the paper away from his mouth.
Anders loved this bag!  He had so much fun playing with the bag and had almost no interest in what was inside of it.
Once he got his new blanket out from the bag he did enjoy rolling around in it.
Alden and Daddy opening their presents together.
Alden had to ask Daddy for help in opening the box because it was taped shut.
Alden was really excited to get new clothes!
Anders found an empty box and got very excited!
He was perfectly content to play with the box for quite awhile.  It is very true that kids at his age have way more interest in the packaging than in the actual presents.
I loved watching Alden open his presents because he was genuinely happy and excited about everything he opened.
Drew had to shake his box to try and figure out what was inside....
Both boys got new books!  We love books and are always excited to find new books to add to our collection!
Alden got a new jacket and was really excited to try it on and show me the mask!  I think it is funny that he has no idea who Captain America is but he thinks the jacket is just really cool.
Alden also got a little Snoopy with a dog house and he was so excited to get to play with it.  We had a great time celebrating our early Christmas and it was fun to have a little Christmas with just the four of us!
