Power Outage

On Sunday we had the power go out for a couple hours and it was funny to see how Alden reacted.  There was no giant storm and it was only out for a couple hours, so we were fine, but Alden was very upset and worried that the Christmas tree was broken.  He laid on the floor and cried because the lights on the Christmas tree wouldn't come on.  We distracted him for a little while with other things but later he went to work "fixing" the tree with his tools.  Luckily the power came on soon after that and so Alden could stop worrying about the tree.  These are just a few pictures from that experience and that day.

Anders is so excited for mealtime now.  He loves sitting in his chair and eating.  It is really cute to watch.  He didn't care about the power going out at all.

This is Alden when he was very sad about the Christmas tree being broken.
We tried to explain that the power was out and the tree would work again later but he didn't like that.  We ended up distracting him with something else for awhile.  Here is a short video of that exchange.
Anders, happy about mealtime, yet again.
Alden and Daddy spent some time playing Ker-Plunk and they got out some glow sticks while the power was out.

This was Alden when he got his tools out to try and fix the Christmas tree.
I love Alden and the fact that he is creative and he is stubborn enough to know what he wants.  In this case, it was for the Christmas tree lights to work again.  It was a fun and interesting afternoon without power.
