After stopping at the Visitor's Center we drove a little ways to a pretty picnic spot. The only problem about it was that there were quite a few bugs, including mosquitoes that my dad really did not like. So, we enjoyed our lunch quickly (my dad sat in his car) and then moved on to the Black Sand Basin. It was a nice little boardwalk trail around some more thermal features. It wasn't that long but it was a nice stop on our way out of the park for the day. We all had a fun time seeing a little of the park for our first day and I loved seeing my kids get so excited about seeing all the neat sites!
Anders enjoyed exploring the Visitor's Center with Grandma.
Both boys enjoyed looking at everything and learning a little.
Our nice little picnic spot...with lots of bugs. However, they mostly stayed away from my kids.
The Black Sand Basin.
It was very interesting driving around the park and seeing areas like this just off the side of the road where you could see steam rising.
Anders had fun walking with Aunt Katrina.
Anders made me a little nervous climbing on the fencing but it was cute and he was pretty careful. I thought this pool was so pretty.
My boys love their family!
It was neat seeing steam and water come out of different holes in the ground.
Alden was very interested to learn why there is water shooting out of the ground and steam coming up everywhere. I love his inquisitive mind!
