Storm Point Trail

We had a ton of fun going and hiking a trail called Storm Point near Yellowstone Lake one morning.  It ended up being a beautiful hike and it would have been perfect had it not been for the bugs.  There were so many bugs near the water that it felt like you were walking through a swarm but I am still really glad that we did the hike because it was beautiful and gave us even more unique views in Yellowstone.

The hike was a total of 2.3 miles and pretty flat so it was a nice morning stroll for us.  Anders even walked quite a bit of it by himself and had a lot of fun.  Alden loved seeing the water and some wildlife but he did not like the bugs here.  He wanted to keep walking and not stop when we were near them.  However, I love that this hike went through meadows, pine forests and gave some beautiful views of Yellowstone Lake and the surrounding mountains.  The diversity of landscapes in such a short distance was so neat to see.

This is where the trail started.  In the clump of trees there were two bison, you can see one of them if you look closely.
Anders was so excited to walk but he did have to be carried by Dad some.
We made it to Yellowstone Lake.

It was a beautiful lake with spectacular views.
There were little critters climbing all over these rocks.
Here were the prairie dogs that were climbing all over the rocks.
So grateful for my awesome hiking buddies!  Eliza just slept and Alden was a great hiker.
Some of the views from Storm Point.
Drew enjoying climbing rocks and exploring!

I loved looking down along the edge of the lake.
Having fun walking through the pine forest.
Back through the meadow to finish the hike.
Anders really wanted to walk but he needed a little encouragement from Aunt Katrina and Alden.  It was fun to watch!  I am so proud of my little boys and their hiking skills already so that we can take them to see beautiful places like this.
