Elephant Seals

While we were in California for Christmas we got to go to Ano Nuevo State Park to see the elephant seals.  It was fun to get to take our kids to a beach and show them an animal that they don't normally get to see in it's natural habitat.  It was a beautiful day to be at the beach and we got to see a lot of elephant seals up close which was really neat!

Alden loved the whole tour and wanted to ask as many questions as he could. Anders got a little tired and didn't want to walk the whole time but he still loved getting to see the elephant seals.  Eliza just sat in her carrier with me the whole time and loved being outside.  It was a great day for our whole family and I am so glad that we got to do this with my parents and sisters.

The beach alone was beautiful.
Anders got to ride on Daddy's shoulders out to where the elephant seals were.
Alden seeing his first elephant seal on the beach.
Anders really enjoyed kicking the sand.
This is not a very good picture, but there were a couple elephant seals fighting in the water that were interesting to watch.
It was fun watching them interact on the beach.  The little ones would hurry away from the really big ones when they would start making noise or getting up.
There were so many elephant seals just resting on the beach.
Alden loved asking the guide questions!
Alden trying to get the best view and Eliza just chilling.

I love my kiddos!  Anders loved getting to hang out with Daddy all day.
Just looking at the ocean and beach!
Such a beautiful day to be outside with family getting to see so many giant elephant seals up close.  You really don't realize how big they are until you are ten feet away from one and realize they could seriously hurt you if they charged at you.  Luckily nothing like that happened and we just enjoyed a really nice tour!
Eliza decided she was done with the carrier on the way back to the car so she got some good Grandma time!  We really all had a great day!
