Changdeokgung Palace and Tapgol Park

The last thing we did on Saturday before coming back to the apartment was to visit Changdeokgung Palace and Tapgol Park to see a huge pagoda.  Changdeokgung palace was smaller than Gyeongbokgung palace but had a lot of the same type of architecture.  The biggest difference at this palace was that there was a whole section of the palace that we were guessing used to be servants quarters because all the doors were REALLY short and all the buildings were packed really closely together.  Drew and I decided that we would have thought it was an amazing place to play hide and seek when we were kids.

Here is an example of the close together buildings and short doorways...

Drew had a lot of fun exploring!

This was me getting through a really short doorway with Alden...and you should remember, I'm only 5' 7". Here is a video of me going through a different doorway that was slightly taller.
This was the main throne room at this palace.
The curtains really stood out and did not seem to fit with the decor.

We thought this bench looked very pretty but highly uncomfortable...

We then went to a park nearby called Tapgol Park.  It is actually a very small park compared to the other ones that we have been to but I wanted to see the huge pagoda that they had there.  It was cool to see, but unfortunately it is encased in a glass tower (you'll see below)  so it is hard to take pictures of because there are reflections and glares.  The park was very pretty and peaceful even if it was a little small.  Here are some pictures.

Drew and I enjoyed sitting for a few minutes and Alden enjoyed sleeping, again.

This is the pagoda at the park.
