Children's Grand Park Part 2

So the second part of the Children's Grand Park was mostly a zoo and animal show with a few other things as well.  Alden loved seeing all the animals and enjoyed the show.  He did fall asleep soon after we got to the zoo so Drew and I decided that that was a good time for a lunch break.  Alden woke up around the time we finished our lunch (He only slept for about 40 min) so he didn't miss much of the park.  Here are some of the pictures that we took at the zoo and in the show.

Alden liked watching the elephants closely but you can tell he is getting tired.

Alden looking at the penguins and all the other birds.

This was one of my favorites.

Now, looking at the next pictures of the cats, can you tell how hot it was outside?

Alden didn't really care about the lion, he just wanted to critique the elephant's artwork.

You could pay to have your kids ride a camel like this.  We didn't think Alden was big enough.
Alden fell asleep so we got lunch.  Yummy! (And not too expensive)

We went to watch an animal show based off Peter Pan.  We didn't understand anything they were saying because it was all in Korean but because it was based on a story we were familiar with we could follow some of what they were saying.
Wendy, Peter Pan and the cute Tinkerbell.

They had some birds fly right over our heads and Alden got scared the first time.

This little guy didn't want to leave the stage.

Here is video of Wendy and the parrot.
Here is the other Tinker Bell and yeah...I'm not really sure what to say.

This is the sign describing what we saw.  Here were a few other videos that we took during the show that you may enjoy seeing.
Captain Hook and Monkey
Seals
Penguin Alligator

Then back to the zoo to see more animals while Alden was awake and would enjoy seeing them!

A fountain right in front of the deer.  Alden had fun watching the deer.

Alden was trying to watch the goats walking right by him.

The botanical gardens.

These are just a couple pictures of an area of the park close to the zoo where tons of Koreans had set up tents and were hanging out.  We have noticed that it is really common here to go to parks on the weekends, set up a tent there and then stay all day.  At the Children's Grand Park there were tons of places for kids to play in the water, there were sports fields and activities even set up for them.  It was really neat!

We walked through this pretty area with flowers.

This area had Junk Art, as it was called on the map, which was pieces of artwork built out of various things that people might throw away.
This was called "Fairyland."  We didn't get it.

This was a fountain that was really cool to watch and was actually choreographed to go along with music.  Here is a video showing it.  I'm sorry that the sound is not great.

Our last stop before leaving the park: trying new frozen Korean desserts to help us cool off after a long day outside.  The one I got was funny because it was like a kiwi otter pop put into a bottle.  However, it was really yummy.

So that was our day at the Children's Grand Park.  We had a really good time and enjoyed seeing everything and experiencing a little more of the Korean culture!
