Olympic Park

Last Friday night was a lot of fun because we went to Olympic Park and walked around.  It is a huge park with tons to see and lots of grassy areas for Alden to run around in.  It was a really pretty place for a walk and it was nice that there were some areas that were still just dirt trails and trees so you didn't feel like you were in such a huge city.  Here are pictures showing our experience!  Oh, and I created an album on facebook with all of the photos from the park because it was too many to put in this blog post.  I guess I really like taking pictures! =)

Parts of this park were built when the Olympics came to South Korea.

We stopped for dinner and Alden enjoyed eating his food while watching birds in the distance!

We started walking around the park more and let Alden walk for a little ways.  Here is a video of him trying to be really independent.

This drink was like the sour apple-caramel lollipops that you get for Halloween in drink form. Yummy!

We saw lots of birds in the park like this one and Alden loved watching all of them.

There were some really pretty views! Because the park includes area that used to be Mongchontoseong Fortress, an earthen fortification, there were some higher points in the park giving you really good views of the surrounding areas.

We let Alden out to play on the grass and at first he just wanted to sit there.

This Korean girl whose family was nearby came over and started playing with Alden.

Look for Drew...He was having fun!
This is one of the indoor stadiums from the Olympics.

They had statues along this pathway representing the different animals of the Chinese calendar
Drew took off once he found a dirt path leading further into the trees.
I know it is hard to see but there were two birds up in this tree fighting over a specific branch.

Alden loved looking at everything!
Alden kept wanting to get down and walk along this path but the one time we let him do that he ended up stopping to watch a Korean lady's dog play and then she wanted to take a picture of Alden and before we knew it we had a group of at least 10 Koreans around us watching Alden and wanting to take pictures of him. Not that Alden minds the attention, but we had to get him home for bedtime.
At the very end of our time in the park Alden took a tumble and bumped his forehead.  He got a little bruise and some scratches.  My poor little boy!

Besides the little tumble that Alden took at the end we had an awesome time at the park looking at everything and enjoying not being completely surrounded by buildings!  We hope you enjoyed looking at our pictures and reading about it.
