Barefoot Landing

After spending the first part of the day at the pool and beach we decided to explore a shopping center, Barefoot Landing, that was just across the street from where we were staying.  It was a neat shopping center that was around a pond so there were lots of fish, turtles and birds for the boys to look for.  Drew and I had a lot of fun walking through some of the shops there while the boys rested in the stroller after a long morning of playing.

It was a fairly hot day out so we also stopped to get an icee for Alden and a milkshake for me.  We had a great afternoon looking around the shops and feeding fish and turtles while Anders got a nice, long nap in the stroller.

Both boys were very tired after playing in the sun at the pool and beach all morning.
Alden enjoying a giant Icee (yes, he shared)
There were these nice chairs placed around the shopping center in the shade.  They provided a great place to stop and enjoy a milkshake.
We stopped to feed the fish and turtles, which Alden was really excited about.
The fish were giant and there was one turtle that was really interesting to watch because it's whole shell was covered in moss.
If you look closely in these photos, you can see the turtle that is covered in moss.
Alden loved watching all the turtles and fish chase the food.

Alden and Daddy looking for more fish and turtles.
It was very pretty walking around the shopping center where they had long bridges connecting parts of the shopping.  Drew thought the signs saying "Warning Alligators & Wildlife May Bite" at Alden's height were a little funny.  Don't worry we were careful and did not see any alligators.
Alden found some ducklings with their mom in another little pond and had fun watching them.
He loved watching the ducks swim around.
He was also really excited when they swam really close to where he was watching,
There were so many really pretty spots around Barefoot Landing
Alden really wanted to pose here with Mommy.
Alden had fun trying to look for wildlife one last time before we left to go to dinner. We had a great time walking around together and were impressed with the shopping center overall.  This was a wonderful way to spend our afternoon.
