When we got down to the water neither of our kids were very happy about getting in the ocean. Drew and I were excited to wade in and experience the Atlantic Ocean for the first time. It is definitely way warmer than the Pacific, and even though I had always had people tell me that, it was very different to experience it in person. I loved being in the water at Myrtle Beach because it was so comfortable and it felt nice because it was hot outside.
Both Alden and Anders were a little scared by the waves and were not very excited about getting in but eventually they warmed up to it. Alden was very scared at first and wanted nothing to do with getting in the ocean but then we decided to build sand castles and we needed water to help hold the sand together. Once we handed Alden a little watering can and told him we needed water for sandcastles, he would run right in to the ocean to fill his watering can up with no fear at all. It was funny to see how quickly he became comfortable with the ocean when we handed him a silly little watering can.
We had an awesome time at the beach and loved getting in the water and playing in the sand. The sand was definitely our kids favorite part of being there! Alden loved building his sand castles and Anders loved destroying them and throwing sand everywhere. Here are some pictures from our time on the beach.
Alden heading down to the water with Daddy.
Anders got in the water and then immediately turned around to get out. He didn't like the waves.
Alden quickly wanted Daddy to pick him up because he was not very excited about the waves either.
We made it to the Atlantic Ocean together which I am very happy about.
Anders decided he wanted his milk on the beach so we gave it to him and put Alden's hat over his eyes so that he could comfortably lay down.

This is when Alden started being okay going to the ocean because Daddy needed water for the sandcastles.
Their first little sandcastle.
Here you can see Alden down at the water filling his watering can and then coming back and putting the water with sand for Daddy.
After they had built a few sandcastles Alden wanted to see what would happen if he poured water on top of the sandcastles.
Anders was okay just watching them build sandcastles for awhile.
Anders is watching his brother go back down to the ocean for more water.
Alden stayed entertained with the sandcastles for at least an hour.
This is where Anders started wanting to smash the sand castles.
Drew enjoyed building a little village of sandcastles with help from his boys.
Anders was happy sitting next to a big pile of sand so that he could grab handfuls and throw them around.
I loved walking around the beach and I love the feel of sand on my feet. We had a great morning on the beach and made great memories together. This is one of the best beaches I have ever been to and it was very memorable and nice.
