Visiting the Library

Since we have got to South Carolina the weather has only gotten hotter and it is so hot now that the only way to go outside is in the morning or evening unless you are going to a water park or pool.  So, what do we do on a hot afternoon when Drew is off work?  We go to the library in downtown Columbia to check it out and let the kids play and walk around somewhere different for awhile.  The library is nice and has a nice kids section downstairs that is separated from everything else so the kids can talk at a normal volume and not upset other patrons.  Alden loved seeing all the games they had out and Anders enjoyed walking around and looking at everything.

Alden loved playing with all the puzzles!

Anders was even interested in the puzzles, but he mostly wanted to play with the pieces.

Drew had fun teaching Alden the basics of Checkers and Alden had a lot of fun learning.
It is cute to watch them enjoying some time together.
Alden liked walking around and looking at everything, as you can see here.  You can also see the giant mural they had on the wall behind him from "Where the Wild Things Are."
Anders liked taking apart all the duplos and putting them in the basket.

Then Anders wanted a turn playing Checkers with Daddy.
We had a fun day at the library and it was a nice place to stay cool and avoid the heat outside of the house.
