On our last day on Jeju Island we packed up and checked out of the hotel and then took off to go sightseeing for the rest of the day. We went to see Odeolgae Rock, Hallim Park and the shopping areas in the city of Jeju. Our first stop was at Odeolgae rock where we just took a little walk down to the overlook on the coast.
This picture on the left shows the rental car we had while we were down there.
Alden was very determined to do lots of the walking on his own, including the stairs. Here is a video of it.
Alden got given the balloon he was holding in this picture at one of the stores we stopped at. This was actually the second balloon that he was given down in Jeju. They were great free entertainment for him while we were down there.
Our second stop for the day was at Hallim Park which was a place that had lots of gardens for you to walk through, some caves for you to visit and some birds that you could see. It was a really nice park to walk around in and it wasn't very crowded once we got past the first garden that all the bus tours stopped at.
There were lots of cool reptiles in the first few gardens.
These tortoises kept moving all over the place. They were the most active tortoises that I had seen in awhile.
I thought the Bearded Dragon pile was cute and these birds were really chatty. Drew really liked the birds so he took a video of them. Here it is.
Alden really likes all the Koi ponds.
Drew had fun trying to figure out what types of trees these were.
This was one of our favorite looking flowers in the park.
There were two caves in the park that you could walk through,
We were there at the right time to see the Hydrangea Garden.
Alden had fun pounding on the rock and pushing the stroller for awhile. Here is a video of it.
We sat down to take a rest for a little bit and saw the bird shown above but Alden's favorite thing to do during the break was to run around either stomping on the leaves or picking them up and putting all of them on a chair. It was like he thought that the ground wasn't clean enough.
Alden thought that it was fun sitting on the stone horse. Here is a video of it.
Alden liked watching all the birds and this is a video of him and some noisy birds.
These were all pictures taken of a rock art collection that you could view in the park.
I thought that these topiaries were pretty cool.
This was the last thing that we did in Hallim park and Alden thought it was so fun. He and Daddy got to feed the koi fish. Here is a video of it.
After visiting Hallim Park we drove back to the city of Jeju and stopped at some shopping areas there before catching our flight home. We found an underground shopping mall that was fun to visit and was nice and cool even in the hot weather. There were also a bunch of shopping areas above that mall that we spent a little time in as well. After we were done there we returned the rental car and went back to the airport where we were able to catch an earlier flight home so that Drew could get at least a little rest before he had to be at work at 2 AM the next day.
This was the outdoor shopping area.
The underground shopping mall.
I know you can't see the times on the clock in this picture but it shows the gate 60 min before the flight and 20 min before the flight. Apparently no one gets to the gate more than 30 min in advance here, besides us.
Alden enjoyed running around in the airport before the flight.
