Alden Soccer

Alden had so much fun playing soccer this year. It was a lot of fun watching him and Drew get to spend some time together and bond over something they really enjoy.  Alden had so much fun at games and practices, but they really wore him out. (Although, I appreciated that)

I felt bad because Alden was sick the week before his last game and so he was extremely tired that day.  It also did not help that they only had enough players for one sub, so he had to play almost the entire game.  It made for some funny moments when he literally laid down on the court because he was so tired.  I would then be shouting at him from the sidelines to get up so that he wouldn't get trampled.

However, even though he was tired for his last game he still had a lot of fun and he was really excited to get his medal and a cupcake after the game.  We all had a lot of fun with Alden playing soccer this year and I am glad that we pushed for him to do it even though he is only three.  It was a fun experience and Alden absolutely  loved playing soccer.  He has been asking if he can play ever since he had his last game.  Drew and him will need to find some time to practice together! :)

Alden enjoyed playing goalie, but he would get very frustrated when he didn't get to touch the ball for a long period of time.
Alden tried to be good about watching the ball when he was goalie.
Sometimes, he got bored and distracted...
Alden enjoyed staying close to Daddy and Anders and I had a good time watching the games from the sidelines.

Alden's Last Game

Alden's team, Orange Crush, getting ready for the game.
Before each game the ref would have them sit down in the middle of the court to talk about a couple things and do Rock, Paper, Scissors to see which team kicked off.
Alden tried to keep running and chasing the ball.
Alden stayed separated from the group occasionally (partially because he was so tired and couldn't keep up) but he was mostly part of the game of bunch ball.
Alden would get tired but then try to keep up again at his last game.
Here is a short video from Alden's last soccer game.  He was running and kicking the ball but you can see that he was super tired because his run did not have it's normal energy.
This is when I started shouting at Alden to get off the floor so that he wouldn't get trampled.
Alden and his teammates enjoyed the end of the game proceedings.
The kids got cupcakes for the last game and Drew, as the coach, handed out the medals and certificates.
Alden had so much fun this season, getting to play soccer and spend time with some of his friends on the team.  We are all a little sad that the soccer season is over (especially Alden) but it gives us something to look forward to next year!
Alden's soccer team of 2015 with Drew as his coach!
