Westport Beach

After exploring the small town of Westport we walked along the docks and found some sea lions sitting on one of the docks.  Drew took Alden down to see them (from a safe distance away) and he thought that was pretty neat.  After that we went to the beach near our hotel and we had fun playing and exploring there for awhile.

I enjoyed looking for shells and interesting rocks on the beach, Alden enjoyed throwing rocks in the water and Drew had fun writing and drawing in the sand.  Anders just enjoyed looking at everything!  We had brought a kite to fly, but unfortunately there was no wind and so that was not an option.  However, we were very grateful for the sunny weather that was extremely pleasant.  We could not have asked for a nicer day to be at a Pacific beach in October!

After exploring the beach for awhile we went to a seafood place for dinner.  It was really yummy and the portions were huge so it was very filling.  I got the clam chowder bowl and Drew got the fish and chips while Alden had chicken fingers.  It was a very satisfying dinner with good food!

One of the sea lions that was making a ton of noise!
Alden and Daddy starting to explore the beach.
It was a very nice beach and I loved that it was empty!
Alden and Daddy spent a lot of time throwing rocks in the water.  Alden wanted to make sure he didn't get wet so they had to stand back and wait for a big wave to crash and get close enough to them that Alden could throw a rock in.
Here is a video of Alden throwing a rock in the water.

Anders and I enjoyed watching the waves crash.

All my boys together enjoying the beach.
These are the shells we found plus some sand dollars that a nice lady gave to us.  She had at least 20 sand dollars that she had found on the beach and when she saw us with kids she gave us a few, which was really neat.
This is just a short clip of Alden bringing me a shell that Daddy found on the beach.
Alden found this big stick and piece of burned wood and wanted to show it to mommy!  It was cute to see what Alden found interesting on the beach
I absolutely love family outings and getting to spend time with each other!  I love seeing Drew play with his boys and how great of a relationship that they have.
Drew had fun writing Alden's name in the sand with a big stick.
My boys enjoying the last few minutes of running around the beach.
Our giant plates of yummy food!
I can't believe how fast Anders is growing and that he is big enough to sit in a high chair for a whole meal and eat his puffs.  He is such a cutie!  We had a great time exploring and it was great to be there in the off season when it was not very busy!
