Winthrop- Fish Hatchery

After walking through the town of Winthrop we decided to go visit a Fish Hatchery near the town.  We thought Alden might like it and he did.  It was neat because they also have a beaver relocation program that uses some of the old ponds there.  They bring beavers there that are living in areas that might not be safe for them and they let them live here until they can find a better space for them.

Alden thought it was fun to get to see some beavers in make-shift homes.  Alden also had a lot of fun feeding the fish in a pond.  There was someone who was working there who told us a little more about the fish hatchery and then gave us food to go feed a certain set of fish.  This was a nice little stop that was great for Alden!

These were the make-shift beaver homes.

There was one beaver out swimming around and the rest were tucked inside their homes.

These fish were very energetic and competitive for food.

Alden thought it was really neat that he got to see so many fish!
Here is a video of Alden and Daddy feeding the fish.
It was also just a pretty place to walk around a little as we looked at everything.  This was definitely a nice, kid-friendly stop for us!
