It was a really nice little town and we liked that it felt peaceful and not too busy. It probably helped that we were there in the off-season but we were okay with that. I think it is nicer to go to some places at less popular times when it is less crowded and a little more calm. This town had the feel of a quaint little town nestled in the mountains and it was perfect for a weekend get-away.
This was the bridge at the North end of town. The river flowing around town was beautiful with all of the fall colors.
Alden was excited to find somewhere new that he could throw rocks into the water.
He was also really excited that we got to see this hawk circling around above us.
This was the town with the neat architecture more typical of an old western style town.
Alden found a little friend outside the Emporium.
A neat little footbridge through part of town.
The Shafer Museum was located right above town so we went and walked around there too.
The one thing that was a little disappointing about being there in the off-season was that none of the buildings were open, however we still had fun walking around and seeing everything.
Alden had fun asking questions about everything, trying to learn what everything was. I am grateful that my child is very curious and likes to learn.
This was the view, looking down at the valley the town sits in, from the museum.
They had lots of old tractors and machinery to look at and learn about.
We had a fun time exploring the town and the museum! It was a really nice town and I am glad that we went and explored it.
