Alden's Swimming

On our last morning in Calgary we decided to take Alden down to the pool one last time because it was the last time we would have convenient access to a pool on our vacation.  We had been swimming at almost every hotel we stayed at for the whole trip and I was so impressed by the amount of progress Alden made in such a short time.  He went from only being willing to stand or sit on the top step to being able to jump from the steps on his own and take off swimming all the way across the pool with just the help of his floaty.  I really want my kids to learn how to swim and feel comfortable in the water and I feel like this was a big step for us, to get Alden to the point when he is no longer afraid of pools.

This pool was a very warm temperature which was nice for Anders.  It meant that I could take him in for awhile and he really enjoyed it.
Alden started out being timid on the steps again...

But, he quickly jumped in and was swimming all over.  This was a video of Alden when we first got in the pool here.
At some points Alden would rest on the stairs and want the ball passed to him.  Here is a video of Alden on the stairs.

Anders had a great time in this pool because it was so warm.  Here is a video of him in the water.
Alden had a lot of fun chasing the ball around the pool and he got pretty good at it.  Here is the first video of Alden chasing the ball.  Here is video # 2 of Alden chasing the ball.

Alden also learned how to scoot along the wall which you can see in this video.
Such a happy swimming boy by the end.  I am so proud of Alden for improving so fast and I think this video shows how much he has improved and how much fun he has swimming now.
