Alden was cute because he started walking but then almost instantly wanted to go on Dad's shoulders. Then, by the end of the hike, he was really cold and just wanted to be done. He kept pulling his hat lower and lower over his head, even though that made his hand colder. Anders just stayed bundled up with me the whole time while he slept. I enjoyed carrying him because he helped keep me warm! After our hike we found a little sheltered area where we could eat our lunch. We were really glad we were done with our hike by then because it got really windy and rainy but we were okay in the covered area. It was a fun little hike and it was definitely memorable.
Alden thought these animal statues outside the visitor center were pretty cute and fun.
The view looking over at the glacier.
Alden and Daddy hiking the trail together.
We all made it to the toe of the glacier and this was about the point that Alden decided he was too cold as you can tell by his pouty face.
Here you can see the glacier behind us.
Very chilly but fun little hike.
Anders was all bundled up in his snowsuit so he stayed very warm.
Looking out at Athabasca glacier.
Hiking back down the hill Alden got to ride the whole time.
Alden ate our leftover pizza from the night before.
These were taken at another viewpoint on the Icefields Parkway where you could see multiple glaciers and look down on the river. The whole drive was very beautiful and luckily it wasn't too crowded the day we did it.
I just loved all the beautiful views!
