The first lake that we went to was Beauvert Lake. The trail looped around the whole lake but kept us near the water so we could see that lake. This was a big plus for Aden since he loved throwing rocks in anytime we were right next to the water. We all enjoyed the trail and besides there being a few too many insects for our liking the hike was very nice. The trail was about 3.5 km around and Alden did almost the whole things on his own. He is such a good little hiker and we love taking him out into nature to see the beauty that you can't always appreciate living in a developed area.
We stopped at the visitor center before we took off hiking to get suggestions on the most kid friendly hikes. This was one they recommended.
They had this train near the visitor center that Alden could climb on and he thought it was pretty cool
He loved pulling the string to make the bell ring.

This was us starting out on our hike around the lake. As you can see it was a fairly flat and even trail but still beautiful and not too crowded. This was a great hike for a three year old who is just starting to hike on his own. Alden thought this was a fun trail because he could almost always see water.
Our little hiking crew minus Dad who was taking the picture.
Alden being an awesome little hiker.
Grandma and Alden looking at the fish in the water together.

It really was a beautiful day and I just loved the view.

My boys having a good time on the trail.
Alden did need a little help finishing up the hike. He walked at least 3 km of the trail before asking for a shoulder ride from Grandpa. I would call that a successful hike for a 3 year old!
