Johnson Lake at Banff

On our first morning in Banff we went out and walked around Johnson lake.  It was a beautiful little hike around the lake and Alden's favorite part was throwing rocks in the water....again. (No surprise, right? =D )  It was a nice hike that wasn't very difficult and very peaceful.  It was not very crowded while we were there, as we really only saw three other groups of hikers which was really nice.  Some of the other places we visited were extremely crowded so it was nice being somewhere that was not.

Alden wanted to run straight to the lake to throw rocks in when we got there.
It was beautiful and I loved the way the clouds looked while we were there.
We found another "herd" of Canada geese along the trail there.  They were not very interested in flying.

My happy, sweet boy!

Exploring and looking out across the lake with Daddy.  He loved finding all these spots where he could throw more rocks in the water.
There were such gorgeous views from every side of the lake!
The trail along one side of the lake was much steeper than the other side but it still wasn't bad.
Alden loved watching these loons and he wanted to practice flapping like a bird.  He was showing how they used their wings to propel themselves in the water.

Looking for fish in the water under the bridge.

After we finished hiking Alden wanted to throw more rocks in the lake so we let him.  It was cute because he would run all the way up to or past the tree to find a rock and then run all the way back to the water to throw it.
Alden also loves picking up the biggest rocks that he can carry or find to throw in the water.
