Lake Louise

Our last stop along the Icefields Parkway before making it to Banff was at Lake Louise.  This was a beautiful stop that was very crowded at the beginning, but once we started hiking it wasn't bad.  Alden loved it because it was another waterfront trail where he could throw or drop rocks in very frequently.  I just loved how beautiful it was and the weather was very pleasant and we got lucky because we got there when it was partially sunny and then we beat most of the rain back to the car.  It was a great stop that I think we all ended up enjoying.

It was a beautiful end to a very scenic day.  I have to say that after traveling the Icefields Parkway again, this time as an adult, I can say that the scenery is amazing and unlike anywhere else I remember being.  I loved seeing the glaciers and the beautiful lakes and rivers that are produced from the melting glacier water.  It is all beautiful to see and I loved seeing everything we had time for here!

Alden enjoying looking at the lake when we first got there.

Drew and Alden took off hiking...in the wrong direction at first...because they were trying to get away from all the crowds.

The beautiful Lake Louise and the river leading out of it.
This is the lodge that is right on the water front.
Alden had a little bit of a fit when we made him stop throwing rocks for a bit to hike.  Once we got on the hike he was fine, he just wanted to stop to throw rocks every little while.

It really was gorgeous.
The lake water was really high and it had even flooded small parts of the trail.
Our family...too bad Alden wasn't in the mood to smile for the picture.
The little Canadian canoe.  We assume it was a tour but we just thought it was kind-of cool.
Looking back down the lake at the lodge where we started.
Alden dropping a rock in the lake.  He was very good at holding Daddy's hand for the whole hike since we were so close to water.
We enjoyed the beautiful lake and time with family!
