It was a beautiful hike and it was made interesting by the fact that it started raining when we were about half way around the lake. It was fun to watch the raindrops hitting the water and see all the ripples on the lake. I was glad we had the stroller because it kept Anders totally dry and Alden mostly dry but I personally didn't mind getting wet. I sometimes think that it is fun going for walks in the rain! I am so glad that we got to see this beautiful natural lake.
Alden and Grandpa getting their food break.
Alden and Grandpa had fun playing at the park together. Alden was having fun pretending he was making food for Grandpa and serving it to him.
This was our view starting off on our hike around the lake.
It was a beautiful lake that looked like a lot of fun to swim in. It didn't look like it got very deep, even in the middle so I think it might have been fun to get in on a day it wasn't raining.
Alden had fun throwing rocks in the lake here too!
Here was the family of birds we found after it started raining. You can see the ripples from the raindrops hitting the lake.
Anders slept peacefully through all of the rain.
We stopped for a minute under this tree to get a break from the rain. You can see that Alden was very determined to keep the stroller shade down to stay mostly dry. I had a lot of fun on this hike and I thought the rain just made it more memorable.
On our drive back to the hotel from our hike my mom spotted this bear right off the road so we stopped to watch him for a few minutes. Don't worry, we never left the car we just watched from the safety of our vehicle and enjoyed getting to see the bear in the wild!
