The day that we left Jasper we drove along the Icefields Parkway on our way to Banff. It was a very scenic and beautiful drive and we stopped at quite a few spots along the way to enjoy some of the sights. The first stop we made was at Athabasca Falls. The falls were incredible to see because the water was really high so the falls were huge. The falls were incredible to watch and depending on where you stood you could get sprayed with quite a bit of water (which wasn't necessarily what we wanted because it was a little chilly and rainy).
This was an amazing walk and I am so glad we stopped for it. The falls were incredible and it was even fun to see just how high the river was. It was also fun to see Alden's reaction to the falls. At first he really didn't like how loud they were but he eventually took his hand off his ear. He enjoyed watching them and seeing all the water. Here are some pictures and videos of the amazing falls.
This was looking down the river that leads into the falls.
This is a quick look at the river leading into the falls.
Athabasca Falls (If you follow this link you can see another video of the falls and all of us there.)
Incredible! You can see the water spray going up to the right from where the falls were crashing into each other.
Alden was much more focused on covering his ear than on holding on to Grandma. At least he was happy!
This is the water coming out of the falls and look, Alden took his hand off his ear. You can also see I kept Anders all snuggled in so that he stayed warm and dry.
I love my boys!
The view from the other side of the falls. They really were incredible to watch!
Here is a short clip showing the falls.
One last shot of the falls. My parents have been here before and they think that this is the highest they have ever seen them.
